90-Second Newbery Film Festival – Teen Book Club Entry

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is fast approaching. The Tacoma Public Library’s downtown Main Library will host the fest on Saturday, February 23rd from 2 – 4pm. Authors James Kennedy and Kevin Emerson will be our emcees.

I have been so impressed with the variety of entries in terms of books chosen, film formats, and the ages of those who submitted videos. So cool!

The fest is going to be a blast! I. Can. Not. Wait!

To tide you over until the 23rd, here is a film submitted by Tacoma Public Library’s Interactive. Media. Teen. Book. Club. They worked for hours on the script and shot list. They spent an entire day filming and about a day and a half of editing. Props to Kelly for all of her hard work in the StoryLab editing the film using iMovie. You rock!

is there a list available of the newberry books used in this 90-second film festival?

    • Hi Marnie,

Yes, creator and host, James Kennedy will be sending me a list of videos and associated links along with the end of the show montage. I will post these to the blog, hopefully by Wednesday of next week.

Thanks for your interest. It was such an impressive selection of films!

      Best,
